Climate
- Cotton is grown in tropical & sub tropical conditions. A minimum temperature of 15 °C is required for better germination at field conditions. The optimum temperature for vegetative growth is 21-27 °C & it can tolerate temperature to the extent of 43 °C but temperature below 21 °C is detrimental to the crop. Optimum Rainfall 580 – 939 mm

SEED TREATMENT
Seed treatment for sucking pests control: Imidacloprid 70 WS @ 5 g /kg or Thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 4 g /kg or Carbofuran SD @ 40 g /kg of seed. Dissolve the required quantity of insecticide in 200 ml of water and prepare the solution. Then cotton seed is put in the solution and shake vigorously followed by rotating in plastic bag so that the seed is coated properly. Let the treated seed dry for 7-10 minutes under the shed.
